Auggie Joins Master's Degree Program in Claims Coding

We’re incredibly proud of Auggie, our AI Machine Learning genius, and all he’s accomplished since beginning his claims processing training last summer. He currently leads the claims department in submitting the highest number of accepted claims—a remarkable achievement. As he continues to grow, we’re excited to support him on his next big step: earning his “master’s degree in coding.”

This journey is no small feat. Auggie will learn how to navigate a vast landscape of codes used by manufacturers, third-party administrators, and home warranty companies. The following is a short list of the claim field names and that will require this type of training.

Auggie’s initial coursework will focus on customer complaints and their corresponding codes. He’ll be learning to interpret every possible issue a consumer might have with their appliance. For example, if a customer reports that “clothes are still damp after the cycle,” Auggie will determine whether the root issue is a heating problem or a timing issue. He’ll also analyze technicians’ responses to better match symptoms with the correct code.

Among other challenges Auggie will face is that many manufacturers require multiple valid coding options for a single issue. But the advantage of Auggie’s Machine Learning experience is that once he masters the correct pattern, he applies it consistently—with 100% accuracy.

Auggie’s coding expertise will soon benefit major manufacturers including BSH Home Appliances, Samsung, LG, Speed Queen, and especially Electrolux with the new Defect Code requirements now in place. Stay tuned as we follow Auggie’s exciting progress!
